Do you have any questions regarding a booking or a cruise? Please choose from our frequently asked questions.

    Check-in time and access your cabin on embarkation day:

    • At the earliest from 15:00 (in case of a change, information will be provided with the travel information).
    • A-ROSA suite guests have the opportunity to check in at any time after 12:00

    Your customers will need to be on board at least one hour prior to departure. All your clients need for their check-in is their ID and a smile. Your customers will find their cabin key card, which also functions as their personal onboard credit card, in the cabin.

    SHIP’S MANIFEST

    If your customers have not yet entered their data online, please kindly remind them to enter it before the start of their cruise. The ship’s manifest is a mandatory document for each passenger, when travelling on water.

    PASSPORT / IDENTITY CARD

    For German citizens the following applies: identity card or passport. We kindly ask all other guests to check with their embassy. Valid identification papers are requested. We recommend guests travel with a passport.

    CRUISE VOUCHER

    A -ROSA LUGGAGE TAGS

    Please fill in the luggage tag completely and legibly and attach it to your luggage. If you do not have luggage tags, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will gladly send these to you.

    CREDIT CARD AND CASH

    The on-board currency is Euro. During the trip, use your cabin card as your own credit card. At the end of the journey you can pay your final account in cash, with EC card (except Douro) or with the following credit cards: MasterCard, VISA, American Express. When paying by credit card or EC/Maestro card, you will need your PIN code. Please make sure that you have your personal PIN code with you. The booking of shore excursions will be billed to your cabin account.

    Please remind your customers to carry a sufficient supply of medicaments and possibly a second pair of glasses, as well as insect repellent and sunscreen.

    There is no transaction fee for payment by credit card.

    Of course! "A-ROSA Premium All-Inclusive" requests may be added to a waiting list.

    Please send your request via email to service@a-rosa.com or international.groups@a-rosa.com. A-ROSA will contact you immediately if a suitable cabin becomes available again.

    The travel date may be changed once free of charge in the “Premium All-inclusive” rate up to 30 days before departure.

    • For each additional change € 25 per person will be charged.
    • Changing a booking from A-ROSA Premium All-Inclusive to A-ROSA Basic Full Board will no longer be possible from 2024.
    • € 200 per person will be charged if a change of booking is made within an “A-ROSA Basic” booking

    Changes to bookings made 29 days or less prior to departure can only be made by cancelling the contract under the existing conditions and making a new booking. Cancellation fees are listed under the “What are the cancellation fees?” question.

    A-ROSA gift vouchers are a great gift idea. For example, you can give a voucher (worth at least € 50) for the next A-ROSA cruise, a voucher for a terranova bike package or for excursions on board.     The currency on board is Euro. During the cruise, you can use your cabin key card as an onboard credit card. At the end of the cruise, you can choose to pay your final bill either in cash (Euro) or with the following credit cards: American Express, Mastercard or VISA. When paying by credit card, please remember that you will need your personal PIN code. Our shore excursions will be charged to your onboard account.

    After conclusion of the contract, an initial payment amounting to 25% of the travel price shall be due. Travel insurance, if taken out, must be fully paid at this time.

    The A-ROSA ships do not have wheelchair-accessible cabins and there are no passenger lifts on board except on A-ROSA ALVA, A-ROSA SENA, A-ROSA ALEA & A-ROSA CLEA. A-ROSA ALVA, ALEA and CLEA have a lift between deck 1 and deck 3 and A-ROSA SENA between deck 1 and 4. The sun deck, however, can only be reached by stairs, which can result in restrictions.

    We attach great importance to our customers’ physical well-being and want to meet their needs in the best way possible. In addition, please ask your customers to contact the reception after their arrival to make an appointment with the chef in order to accommodate the individual needs. We can then assure that you are only offered food that you can enjoy carefree.

    Pregnant women are always welcome on board.

    Yes, they may bring their mobility aid on board, please notify the A-ROSA Service Center (service@a-rosa.com) prior to departure and send them all the information about the size and weight of the wheelchair or mobility aid. Please wait for their approval. A rental of wheelchairs is not possible on board. There are no elevators available on board the A-ROSA cruise ships; your customers must be able to take the stairs.

    For “Premium All-Inclusive” bookings, our guests have the option of choosing their own cabin (subject to availability). The desired cabin number will then be shown on their booking confirmation and later on in the travel information. If our guests opt for A-ROSA Basic, we will only inform them of the cabin number when they check in on board.

    A-ROSA travel information will be sent out after full payment is received, but no earlier than three weeks before departure. They contain details of the necessary travel preparations, possible excursions, arrival and departure, and other information about the upcoming cruise.

    Weapons, explosives, fireworks, acids, dangerous chemicals and flammable substances of any kind, as well as irons, candles and heating devices (e.g. hair dryers, hair straighteners, curling irons, etc.) are not permitted on board. It is also forbidden to bring on board drugs and medical equipment that does not meet the technical requirements. In the event of non-compliance, passengers may be denied boarding without compensation.

    The entrainment of medical oxygen containers may not exceed a total of 60 litres and is permitted only after the containers are registered prior to the cruise. Please send us the technical sheet of the device or the oxygen cylinders in advance to service@a-rosa.com.

    Important: Please wait for our confirmation and the authorisation of the medical device. Rental of breathing apparatuses is not possible on board. Medical devices that do not meet the technical requirements or the safety regulations of the ship are not allowed on board.

    Special vaccinations are not required. Children should have the age appropriate vaccinations according to immunisation schedule. Tetanus / Polio / Diphtheria: If the vaccination is older than 10 years, a booster injection is recommended. This also applies to hepatitis A vaccination. Please also think of an effective protection for the prevention and treatment of insect bites (especially in the Danube Delta) and a sunscreen with a high SPF.

    For protection against insects, an insect screen in the form of a roller blind/sliding element is usually attached to the outside of the balcony door. When operating the roller blind, please ensure you exert equal force distribution in order to prevent it from getting stuck. It can be locked at the bottom.

    Yes, the water on board is of drinking quality.

    The windows and balcony doors of the suites and the cabins with Juliette balconies can be opened, all other cabins do not feature a window which can be opend. However, all cabins have windows and are therefore outside cabins. The A-ROSA ALVA has cabins with lowerable panorama windows on deck 2 or deck 3.

    Guests are mostly from Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Israel and the United States. The on-board language on the A-ROSA ships are German and English.

    Full Board Plus includes an embarkation snack, an extensive breakfast, lunch buffet and dinner buffet and a tea and coffee hour. Many cruises also include seasonal extras such as sandwiches or midnight snacks.

    A variety of high-quality beverages are already included in a “Premium All-Inclusive” booking:

    In case of emergency, the lifejackets can be found in the closet of every cabin.

    Customers are welcome to bring their own bedding. Please contact the A-ROSA Service Center prior to the departure if your customers wish to do so in order to inform the ship’s management.     Yes, there are baby beds available on board the A-ROSA cruise ships. On board the A-ROSA ALVA, A-ROSA ALEA and A-ROSA CLEA, the addition of a baby cot is only possible in the suites.     There is a small shop on board all A-ROSA cruise ships. There you will find a selection from our exclusive A-ROSA collection: films, cosmetics, everyday commodities and souvenirs. The opening hours can be found in the daily programme.

    On the sun deck you will find deck chairs and a sun canopy. In the interest of all passengers, please do not reserve deck chairs. Woolen blankets for cooler weather on deck can be found in your cabin.

    Our "Premium All-inclusive" guests will find bathrobes in their cabins upon arrival. "Basic" guests may receive bathrobes upon request from cabin stewardess or at the reception.

    The ships of the A-ROSA fleet are equipped with a modern GSM telephone system which enables your customers to make phone calls worldwide via direct dialling. Your customers will find information on the valid fees at the reception or in the On-board onboard ABCs in their cabin.

    Just like the entire ship, your cabin also has air conditioning. The cabin temperature can be individually adjusted. When you open the balcony door, the air circulation unit is automatically switched off.

    Laundry bags and order slips for our laundry service are located in the wardrobe. Payment is made via your on-board account.

    The A-ROSA fleet (except A-ROSA ALVA) is equipped with e-bikes. These are used for our bike excursions. The e-bikes can be hired at selected times for your own explorations. For more information on availability and times, please contact the reception on board.

    The cabins on the A-ROSA ships, except the suites of the A-ROSA SILVA, FLORA and SENA, do not have a minibar. For storing refrigerated medication, please contact the reception. The employees will store the medicines properly. The reception is open 24/7, so your clients have access to their medicines at any time.

    On board the A-ROSA ships, you have the option to connect to the Internet using our Wi-Fi. For more information on availability, conditions of use and the incurred costs, please ask at the reception. Premium All-inclusive guests may use the Internet free-of-charge in accordance with the conditions of use.

    Unfortunatley, money exchange is not possible on board. However, bureau de change can be found in the direct vicinity of most of our docking locations.

    Unfortunately, it is not possible for guests to bring their own bicycles on board. However, your customers can take part in our A-ROSA biking excursions. The SPA-ROSA Team will happily inform your customers about the possibility of biking excursions.

    Our bestseller "A-ROSA Premium All-inclusive" leaves nothing to be desired, as many services are already included. However, some onboard services may be subject to additional charges. These include shore excursions, spa treatments, purchases in the onboard shop, Wine & Dine menus, laundry service, as well as other premium beverages, such as fine wines and champagne for example

    Incoming calls are forwarded by reception to the cabin your customer has booked. Incoming and outgoing roaming charges are automatically billed to their onboard account.

    On board and during the shore excursions, you can wear what you like. The dress code is comfortable and casual. Please remember to bring warmer clothes for the evenings out on deck. For the shore excursions, we recommend you bring sturdy shoes. In the restaurants, swimwear or shorts are not appropriate for dinner.

    Animals are not permitted on board the A-ROSA vessels.

    On A-ROSA AQUA, A-ROSA VIVA and A-ROSA BRAVA there is a heated whirlpool in the spa area on Deck 3. On all other A-ROSA ships you will find a heated swimming pool on the sun deck. On A-ROSA SENA there is both a whirlpool in the SPA-ROSA and a swimming pool with its own kids’ pool on the sun deck. Bath towels are provided in your cabin.

    Flight to Lyon:

    If the flight arrival or departure is not booked via A-ROSA, the transfer from the airport to the ship and/or back is not included. The airport transfer cannot be booked in advance as an individual service by individual guests. The rebooking of an A-ROSA airport transfer is possible on the spot on board and only in individual cases, depending on the availability of transfer places and against payment (A-ROSA airport transfer from € 27 p. p. /per route). Alternatively, we recommend an individual taxi transfer in Lyon. On the day of arrival, sufficient taxis are available at the airport. Taxis can be pre-ordered at the reception on board for individual transfers from the ship to the airport on the day of departure.

    Lyon Railway:

    The train station transfer cannot be booked in advance as an individual service by individual guests. Guests arriving and departing individually (not with the A-ROSA TGV-Arrangement) by train to Lyon, we recommend an individual taxi transfer from the train station to the ship or back. Depending on the volume of traffic, the journey takes 5 to 20 minutes each way. Taxis can be pre-ordered at the reception on board for individual transfers from the ship to the station on the day of departure. Alternatively, depending on the availability of transfer places and payment (A-ROSA train station transfer from € 22 p. P. /per route), it is also possible to rebook an A-ROSA train station transfer on board in individual cases.

    Hotel:

    The hotel facilities vary. Some offer three-bed rooms or family rooms with a connecting door, but in some cases it is only possible to add an extra bed/folding bed. Prices and availability on request.

    Train:

    Children up to 5 years of age travel free of charge within Germany, children aged 6 to 14 years of age travel in Germany and Austria free of charge only if accompanied by their parents/grandparents (with family child RIT ticket). Children up to 5 years of age travel free of charge on international transport to France (Lyon, Paris) without entitlement to their own seat, children from 6 to 14 years of age accompanied by their parents/grandparents pay half price (with entitlement to a seat). If a child up to the age of 5 requires their own seat, they must be booked at half the price of the adults, just like children aged 6 – 14 years.

    Flight:

    Babies ("infant" 0-1 years old) and children ("child" usually 2-11 years old) pay a reduced fare for many airlines, but never travel free of charge. Discounts vary between airlines and must therefore be requested from A-ROSA.

    Transfer:

    Long-distance bus operators recommend that babies/children up to 3 years of age travel only in mandatory seats/baby carriers (e. g. Maxi-Cosi). The parents bear the responsibility for safe transportation. The bus driver has the right to refuse to take you on the bus if there are valid safety concerns. The buses used by the transfer agency do not provide child seats/baby carriers, as different seats are required depending on the size.

    A-ROSA can apply for free assistance/accompanying service at the airports for disabled or elderly people who feel insecure at the airport or on connecting flights. Should this occur in connection with the transport of a walker or wheelchair by the guest, it is absolutely necessary to register the device with the airline before departure. For this purpose, A-ROSA requires information on weight and dimensions (length x width x height).

    Furthermore, we would ask you to inform us about the extent of the obstruction/insecurity: can stairs be managed independently or is help needed here? Can the route between the airport building and the transfer bus be managed independently or is help needed here as well?

    Depending on the number of participants and your ideas, the programme can vary a little. However, the programme is usually as follows:

    • Welcome by the Hotel Manager
    • Sparkling Wine / Orange Juice and Canapés
    • Tour of the Ship (approx. 1 hour)
    • Get-Together to ask questions and receive further information 
    • If you wish, you may give a presentation onboard

    A-ROSA charges a fee of € 5.00 net per person.
